Recession has hit medical tourism industry also, many patients from U.S travel to other countries for medical treatment and many employer based insurance companies are also offering this as an option to consider, if employee chooses so.

It was expected that around a million people from U.S to travel to other countries to get medical treatment, which is equal to almost double the number last year. Deloitte & Touche adjusted this figure to around 650,000 patients traveling to other countries, which is still 20 %  more than last year.

This year has seen many Medical Tourism expos all around the world this November.  Health Tourism Congress took place in Dubai this month, so did a expo in Los Angeles, U.S.A and one in Canada.  Many hospitals and facilitators for medical tourism participated in these events to promote Medical Tourism.
